Can't get latest posts to show on my home page…

  • And I’m sure that you all have probably grown weary of this kind of question! LOL

    I thought I had figured out what to do about featured posts (yeah, I’m still kind of a dummy about WP). So I went back to my settings and changed the tick for the front page to ‘latest posts,’ but that isn’t happening for me, no joy…What I am seeing is a Private post that isn’t even due to be shown till December (it was a Scheduled one and something I probably won’t even have a use for, now that I’m revamping my site). The first choice I made for Default Category seemed logical, I picked “Photography.” But I got this December ‘private’ post. I went back and changed to Fall Scan Photos. The December post still comes up! How weird is that??

    Do I need a database call or major tweak in CSS or something?

    And so, for the moment, I’m back to using a static front page…*grumble*

  • Can you post a link to your site? It will be easier to trouble shoot if I can see the actual site. ??

    And can you please take a capture of the options you have for changing back and forth between posts and pages for the front page? I had this problem a long time ago and it wound up being a stupid radio button I didn’t select…

    However I do seem to have the problem sorted…I hope. What I did was go back and change the dates on the offending items to something like 2 years ago, to make sure they stay out of the way! ?? That seems to work, and the ‘default’ category I chose appears to be the first one in the list of categories above the featured post (I love themes where these links show on top rather than down underneath).

    I’ve never done this before (even though I’ve used WP dot com and dot Org for almost 2 years now), this is my first photoblog…so once in awhile mysteries turn up that baffle me even though the solution is usually a simple one… ??

    What was most puzzling of all was how “Private” posts or pages could be turning up, be the dates what they might be. I’ve seen this happen on other themes and it feels like my underwear is showing or something….LOL
