I have tried to customize the header, both by editing the header template part and editing in one of the page headers, but the changes just won’t stick.

What I am trying to do is just have the site logo on the left side of the header and the site name right next to it (with the navigation menu on the right side), but TT3 won’t let me do that. It wants to put the logo on the left and the title in the middle, with navigation on the right.

I saw someone in a forum suggested just creating an image file with the logo plus site name, so I did that, but it is showing up huge even though I have tried resizing it smaller several times. (I don’t want to call that the site logo because then it won’t work in other places, such as the favicon.)

So next I found a pattern that was more or less what I wanted, but the font, color, and style of the text does not match the TT3 style I have chosen. I seem to be unable to change any of those aspects of the pattern.

It doesn’t seem like an unusual thing to want to do, putting the site title next to the logo, but I just can’t get it to work.

Is there a way to do it in XML?

    Thanks!

  • Hi @lizgold I cannot view your site because it is under maintenance.

If you used patterns it is likely that the blocks were added with all the block styles including typography. The best way to change it would be from the block settings, if the blocks are nested inside another block like a column, row or group block you will have to check the typography settings for these as well. You can read more about Typography here:

Have you tried the columns block to add the logo, site title, and menu to the header?
With the column block, you can have 3 columns each with a different width size it might be easier for you to display the blocks to your liking. Using the block toolbar you can also set how the blocks in each column will be aligned:

Hi there @lizgold – just checking in to see if you still need help with this or did you get it sorted?

Sorry–I did end up creating an image with the logo and name together, so it is working. I also changed themes to one that is easier to use with WooCommerce, which solved a bunch of other problems I was having with plugins.
