    I cannot get the favicon to display in the Chrome browser front-end. It displays in the back-end, Safari font and back, and Firefox front and back. I am using the .png file because every time I upload a .ico file, it says it cannot use this file type (I have created .ico’s from various online converters by uploading the .png and converting it into .ico).

    I have tried deleting browser cache, re-installing the plugin, etc. but it still will not display in Chrome for the front-end.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    I spotted two problems:

    1) your theme already brings a favicon along, but the HTML tag that is uses to link it is wrong:
    <link rel="Shortcut Icon" href="https://13primo.com/wp-content/themes/midnight/images/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

    2) you uploaded / configured two favicons with the plugin, and the one you uploaded as an “ICO” is actually a PNG, but the file is not there any more:
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="https://13primo.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/favicon.png"/>

    I guess the third favicon (that is correctly uploaded) only works in Firefox because it’s more fault-tolerant than Chrome:
    <link rel="icon" href="https://13primo.com/wp-content/uploads/favicon.png" type="image/png"/>

    Cheers,
    Arne

    You all in one favicon on FF and IE works great. But have decided to use Chrome as my browser of choice.

    Noticed the favicon is not showing up. Somehow it has defaulted back to WP favicon. Any suggestion on how to make it work?

    My favicon is only showing up on IE but not FF and Chrome.
    It used to be working on all 3 browser, but my site showed the white screen, so I had to shift a backup website back in and my favicon showed a bluish-globe ever since.

    I never had to link to the favicon.ico file in my root folder previously.
    Though I tried putting in the link but it still did not work. Is there some bigger problem since the globe is showing? (Normally it should just show a blank paper icon right?

    Appreciate the help!

    Ok it seems to be working on another computer, seems like just my laptop’s chrome and FF has got a problem with the favicon. Thanks all!
