Can’t get custom template to work

So I added the custom file to my themes folder /download-monitor/ and called it content-download-inhoud.php. When I try to use this template by using the settings and choose custom template ‘inhoud’, nothing happens. When I add the template name manually in the page like this [downloads template=”content-download-inhoud”] also nothing happens. Even when I remove the contents op this file completely nothing changes on the front end. I don’t use caching.

What could be wrong?
