Can't get audio to play

I am trying to put a sound file on the site using the embedded media player. It seems to upload okay (the file is the right size and length) but when I add the media to the page, the embedded player claims the file is 0:00 long and nothing plays. Any thoughts? Using firefox on a Mac, btw.
