I’ve just begun developing a site with a Gutenverse theme on my local machine (MAMP) and for some reason none of the animations appear to do anything. This is a totally fresh installation of WordPress & Gutenverse with the ‘Accountra’ template. I have no other plugins installed.

I’m not getting any console errors etc. that might suggest a JS problem. As I scroll down the page, everything just pops from not visible to visible in seemingly random order. No fading, sliding, etc. Even elements with no animation on them appear to load in as I scroll.

    Any suggestions?

    PHP 8, WordPress 6.1.1, Gutenverse1.8.1

Edit: Now that I’m looking at the theme demos, they all do the same thing… all elements just snap into visibility as I scroll. No animations or fades. Just sudden appearance. Is this some overall limitation of Gutenverse?

    Hi @arothman

That seems odd, which browser did you use?
Does the issue also happen if you use another browser?

I tried both Chrome and Edge on my Windows 11 machine. The animations in the site demos do seem to work on my iPhone…

    Hi @arothman

If possible, could you record a short video of the issue?
All the animations are working fine on our side.
We are not quite sure what causing the issue on your side.
Usually this might be caused by plugin conflict or cache issue, but since you didn’t install other plugin, that doesn’t seems to be the case.
Also, could you copy the system status in Dashboard->Gutenverse->System Status?

I’ve also recorded a video of me scrolling both my local host version and two of the demos on the website: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zj49MQjdDannh8JUqSgMcEYdpXkVi7FP/view?usp=share_link

The demo links do work on my Windows 10 box at the office, so this is definitely something specific to my own machine… I’m just not sure what. Since it happens in all themes and on two browsers, it must be something broader. I’m open to any suggestions. I’d like to be able to develop with the theme on this box, so I’ll need to get to the bottom of it one way or another.

    SOLVED!

Start > Settings > Accessibility > Visual Effects > Animation Effects

It would appear that turning off animations on Windows 11 also disables animations for websites, which I would not have expected. Flipping that toggle back to ‘On’ solved my problem.

    Hi @arothman

Glad to hear the issue has been resolved.
And thank you for sharing what was causing the issue, we will use this as reference if there is similar case in the future.

    Thank you.
