Can’t fix permissions on folder
-
A WordFence scan threw the following error which alerted me to this odd folder:
/home/content/SomeRandomCharacters_data02/38/41207538/html/wp-content/themes/twentyseventeen is not readable in /home/content/SomeRandomCharacters_data02/38/41207538/html/wp-includes/theme.php on line 491 Notice: /home/content/SomeRandomCharacters_data02/38/41207538/html/wp-content/themes/twentysixteen is not readable in /home/content/SomeRandomCharacters_data02/38/41207538/html/wp-includes/theme.php on line 491
When I SFTP to that themes folder, I can’t browse into that twentyseventeen folder, and i also can’t change permissions on it. Even if i try to change permissions on that folder to 777 it fails. Odd things is it says it has ownership of root:inetuser, instead of MyUsername:inetuser. Does this mean someone hacked this theme? I don’t even use the theme so just want to delete this folder but can’t (I already rmeove the theme from the wpadmin).
Any tips? Not sure if there’s something i can do that I just don’t know how to, or if i have to reach out to my hosting provider.
