• I have activated the XML sitemap function and send the sitemap successfully to Google webmasters. So everything seems to work okay, but… I can’t find the sitemap files on my server. So where is the file /sitemap_index.xml located on my server? Or is it hosted somewhere else (by Yoast?)

  • I second this. there is no sitemap index in the top level of the site and Google says there is no site map. I found them buried in the plugin directory for yoast. that doesn’t help. what to do. need them maps accessible.

    As far as I know, the sitemaps are generated dynamically by the plugin when the url is called:

    yoursite.come/sitemap_index.xml
    yoursite.come/post-sitemap.xml
    yoursite.come/page-sitemap.xml
    etc —->> etc

    having the same issue,

    it indeed show the sitemap file when i put the address on the browser, but it cant be found on the server, how come ?
