Can’t find uploaded themes!!

Could be that you need change permissions on wp-content and wp-content/themes folders to 777 (see Changing File Permissions).

Also confirm you are uploading your file correctly and to the proper location (meaning it should have a folder just like the classic theme has in wp-content/themes).

Thanks Michael for your response….the folders are set to 777 and the new theme folder was ftp’d to wp-content/themes. I can see it in my file structure through ftp, but it is not showing in the presentation tab.

Have you tried clearing you browsers cache and try again.

Check to make sure you don’t have “double folders” for themes. Sometimes they get uploaded as
wp-content/themes/theme-name/theme-name/…

Yes I have cleared the cache more than once, and there are no “double folders”. This has thrown me for a loop. Been working trying to find a solution all week-end. I have searched the forum for like situations, however, none seem to work. One post was answered by Samboll, and he said the solution was “server side file structure” or something to that effect. I have been trying to contact him, but to no avail.

Which theme you have uploaded and not shown? It must be in the wrong place…

Moshu I have the theme BlueDream uploaded to that same directory, but it is not showing.

I’m still hanging my hat on the recommendation to check your permissions.

All the permissions are set to 777 Michael: wp-content,themes,BlueDream. Are there others that should be set to 777?

How do I post a screen shot of my ftp transfer? What do you mean by “bumping post” moshu? How long do I have to wait before replying to a post? I don’t want my request deleted because of my ignorance.

You take a screenshot and upload it to your site or to an image storing site, then post back the link to it.

I am having the same exact problem as sydney56 with uploading theme files. WordPress makes it sound soooo easy. It’s not. HELP!!!
