Hello Dear Pods Team. I see that there were some inquiries here on how to rename a pod (Pod Admin -> Edit [Pod] -> Look at the top of the screen -> click on the Edit button)

But, for the life of me, I can’t find that Edit button at the top of my screen. Is it possible someone could provide a screenshot of this?

At this link is a screenshot of my screen: https://spielly.fastmail.fm/Screen_Shot_2022-01-24_at_7.35.48_PM.png

Many thanks for this amazing plugin. Proudly a friend of pods.

If Pods detects that a Pod is extending an existing post type or taxonomy, it will prevent changing the pod name. This is intentional to prevent breaking anything with integrations / existing content.

If you have a custom post type or custom taxonomy that was created by Pods and it is not showing that edit button, do let us know.

Here’s an example of that edit button for a custom post type:

Hello Scott. Thank you for helping me with this. Hopefully I am understanding properly, but I actually did create my post type in Pods.

…Oh, and I should add: Thank you for the screenshot. I can confirm now that I do not see that on my screen.

The next step here is to determine whether Pods is registering the post type correctly or if it’s registered before Pods gets to that point.

On your Pods Admin page, add this to the URL to output some debug information onto the screen (as an admin, you get access to this debug capability):

    &pods_debug_register=1

Maybe provide the output in a reply here for further review.

Thank you again Scott. I used the debug tag. What resulted from that is in the text file at the link below. I can’t say for sure that I captured the top two lines because they were obscured by the wordpress admin sidebar. Please let me know if those will be necessary.

This looks about right — your custom post type is indeed getting registered by Pods.

But the cause of the edit button not showing is not clear right now. If you’d like to join our Live Community Pods Slack at https://support.pods.io/chat/ I’m sure we can help you debug this more quickly and get to the bottom of the issue. If you join it, just look for me and send me a message.

Thank you Scott. I just submitted an invite request. And, thank you for all your work on this project. Truly an amazing and essential tool for the functionality of our wordpress site.
