can’t find install.php

Hi, i’m installing wordpress for the first time and I am getting the following:

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘../wp-load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/evilwave/public_html/journal/wp-admin/install.php on line 18

I have unzipped using 7-zip, uploaded with filezilla and everything uploaded fine. I have installed cmsmadesimple previously and worked fine, so I am assuming I have php enabled on my server. Is it anything to do with file permissions? I have chaged the install.php file to full access to no avail.

Can anyone help please as I have tried previous postings with no luck?
