I have created a business facebook page for my client facebook.com/1600Group and I would like to push the post from by blog website https://www.1600group.com to the facebook page. When setting up this plugin to do this for me, I follow the steps but can not get a “create app” button to appear for the business website. I can do it for my person one and I approved the login of the business website but I still can not get the create app button to appear on the business website. Any idea how I can get this infor for the business facebook page? I have read all the post I can find and tried IE but still no luck. Thanks!

I did add myself as an admin (approved for development) but I am still unable to create an app on the business account (only on my personal account). Is there any other way to see get the security information because this method is not working for a business facebook page and it seems it would be a great place to be able to auto-post from a website.

I did find this post from facebook: I don’t believe we actively document things in the negative – but we’ve listed these requirements to admin an app – facebook.com/help/?faq=117200265032897 for example; business accounts are pretty limited in what they can do, effectively they can only access page management and ad management tools on Facebook.com – Igy May 29 ’12 at 21:34

This is the Facebook policy. “Business” and “Advertisement” accounts can’t create and manage apps. There is nothing can be done about it.

Use your personal account to create an app. You will be able to authorize the the app from “Business” account after that.

It’s not the app that I want, it’s the security id of the business account so that I can auto-post using this plugin.

What is security id and why would you need it for our plugin?

The “Social Networks Auto Poster” requires the “Facebook App ID:” and the “Facebook App Secret:”. From researching it seems the way to find these for a facebook account is to start creating an app and then you will get to see these. I found these value for my personal facebook account but not for the business one I set up (can’t create an app there). It would be great to have access to these values so that I can use the auto poster for a business facebook page. It seems there should be a way to get them but I sure can’t find one. I think I can get the app id by looking at the photos (it’s in the url apparently), but I am lost on the secret value (may be too secret?).

Again as I said two posts above:

This is the Facebook policy. “Business” and “Advertisement” accounts can’t create and manage apps. There is nothing can be done about it.

Use your personal account to create an app. Get “Facebook App ID” and the “Facebook App Secret” from that app. Setup plugin with this app.

Then use your “Business” account to Authorize the app for your website.

There is no other way. Facebook does not allow apps for “Business” accounts. You can’t get an app using “Business” account anyhow.
