Can't find / delete Home page?

I did an install of WordPress and I always begin by ditching the stock page, post (hello world).
What confuses me is that I have zero pages and zero posts and zero comments, yet there is still a Home page with the Hello World text.
Where / what is that text & menu item if not a page or post?
