• This is kinda odd, but I have a redirect on my site somewhere that goes from mysite.com/short to mysite.com/much_longer_post_name

The problem is I can NOT find where I set up that redirect. I use pretty link lite and it is not in there, I disabled the plugin and it still redirects. I checked all of my posts, pages, media files and category pages and there is no reference to that redirect anywhere.

It must be in the database somewhere, but where would I go to find it and how? I have access to phpMyAdmin through my web host, but I have never utilized it before.

I would like to remove that redirect, so that I can use pretty link to point mysite.com/short to another URL. Thanks ahead of time for any info!

  • I`m not familiar with pretty link lite but you can check into the database and search for a table named “%pretty%” or something like that.
Another guess would be your .htaccess file in your root folder.
Maby there`s a 301 redirect added by the plugin.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think you may have misunderstood. I don’t believe it has anything to do with pretty link lite, because if I disable that plugin completely and flush my browser cache, it still redirects.

My thought is that it must be in the database somewhere, but I’m not sure where to look to find it. Any ideas?
