Can't export/import posts

  • I’m trying to export a few posts from my WordPress site (https://www.davesink.com) with user comments to a local backup of my WordPress site. I tried exporting just posts within a date span. The resulting XML file is 4.4 k and after importing to the backup site, nothing is imported though the import says it’s successful. I tried exporting/importing everything as a test, and still the file is 4.4 k and nothing is imported.
    If this won’t work for whatever reason, is there a way to import the posts with comments manually?
    Very frustrating. I’ve been trying to do this for a couple days now. Any help would be most appreciated.
