Hello, great plugin by the way, one of my favorites.

So, after updating to the latest WordPress 5.4 at the time of this post, I also updated my plugins including EASY TOC.

    Problem: Easy TOC now shows

    (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})

as a heading. So if the adsense code was wrapped around H2/H3 tags etc, TOC adds it as a heading while before this update this was not the case because I simply used the exclude headings option.

I tried to use the Exclude Headings options in settings again but nothing that I put in seems to work right now.

I have identified a bug with the exclude headings feature which will be addressed in the next update which might resolve this. But that said, I am confused as why AdSense code would be inserted in as a header???

    Thanks for the response Steven.

Alright, I will update it when it is available.

Well the adsense code wasn’t added as a header, what happened was right below a heading, an adsense code is automatically added via a plugin, and sometimes those for example,<h2> tags wrap-around the entire adsense code plus the normal heading.

@shazahm1hotmailcom – We’re having the same issue with excluding headings.

We had to rollback the plugin to the previous version for now, otherwise our ToC tables would be massive.

Still not sure if I should open a new thread, or post in here, but I’m having the same problem since the last update in that my AdSense ads are also now being picked up by Easy TOC. They are inserted right above an H6, but because I don’t actually use H6 and have no intention of ever doing so, I just added <h6></h6> anywhere I want an ad to appear. I bit of a hack maybe, but it has worked until now.

    Where I once had:

    1.2.1
    2.1
    2.2
    2.3

    I now have:

    1.2.1
    2.1
2.1.0.0.1 (but nothing other than this number, unlike the others that still have their respective headings)
    2.2
    2.3 etc

Rolling back to the previous version has returned things to the way they need to be.

Edit: Since posting the above I went into the plugin’s global options and unchecked H6 as a heading to consider (they were all checked) I have since updated again and things seem to be working as desired on the latest version. ??

As mentioned in the edit at the bottom of my last post, because you can’t delete entire posts, I’ve already solved the problem I was having. ??

ahhh, I see. I am working hard to push the update out today ?? The 2.0 rewrite has been a death of a thousand cuts! So many edge cases. I think I’ve whittled them down significantly so updates should hopefully occur less and less ??
