Can’t edit Thumbnails

Hello! Hoping someone can help me detective why all of a sudden after the most recent updates to WordPress 5.8 I can no longer update or edit thumbnails in my galleries? When I click the EDIT THUMB link and the pop up window appears, it does not load the thumbnail image, the screen is blank and I’m getting a 403 error in the inspector window as follows:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 ()

I’ve tried disabling ALL plugins except NextGen and I’ve tried rolling back NextGen to previous versions, nothing seems to help. Any thoughts?
