I’ve installed several themes, and have never had a problem editing the sidebar, main, etc. files.

I just downloaded “Reflections” and all my files say, “you could edit this if it was editable” or something like that.

I checked permissions (which I’ve never had to do on the others) and they’re all 644. I even changed to 744, but no luck.

Any ideas how I can do this???

  • Edit them with a text editor on your hard drive and then upload the fixed files?

What are you using? WordPress’ built-in editor or something else?

Sorry. Word Press’s built in editor “theme editor” online. I do it this way so I can see the change immediately. I’m not proficient enough to be confident in changes made offiline.

I have always done it this way with no problem with other themes.

Any idea as to how to make the files editable through this method will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

I had to change the permissions to 666 in order to be able to edit them with the built in theme editor. And that was with the Reflection theme.
