Hey all, I’m having serious trouble with elementor. I use the OceanWP theme, and I know it’s compatible. I have no issues editing any other page BUT the woocommerce shop page. Every other page I can load just fine but when I try and edit the shop page, I get “the preview cannot be loaded”. I’ve tried everything listed on the elementor help page apart from changing my theme because I know its not a compatibility issue. Disabled every addon, changed the settings suggested and no cigar.

Does elementor just not let you edit the shop page? Or is this some premium feature cause I am using the free version. Any suggestions would help. Thank you.
Ps. all my stuff is up to date too.

  • You still cannot edit the shop page with Elementor. This will be available in the next release of our theme builder

    Hi
I’m using the latest edition (2.0.18) but I can’t edit shop page, is it still not possible to edit this page with Elementor?

Hi the issue still there. I am not latest eliminator update with latest wordpress version. But I have increased the php memory limit as well but still not able to edit the shop page.

I hope you release a notification when it will be available to edit the shop page with elementor.

Hey, I’m not sure if free version can solve this. For pro version you need to create product archive template.

First go to Elementor > My Template > Add New, then Select “Product Archive” from dropdown and create template.

Edit as you want. Then when publishing the page, select Shop page for include field.

Then go to dashboard > pages. See if the new page with the same name as newly created template are created or not. If yes proceed to next step. If no then you have to create a page, edit with elementor and import the template you just created. Publish it.

Make sure that newly created page is selected under woocommerce > settings > “product” tab as “Shop page”.

    Hope it helps! ??

I literally have the exact same issue…have they really not fixed this still?

@thabrani – That worked perfectly! Thank you ??

    Hi,
    I’m having the same issues:

    Hi @alphoenix ,

Actually if you try to edit with Elementor or use a page created with it for your shop page, this will create an error. “Sorry, the content area was not found in your page. You must call the_content function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.”.

Bottom line being, don’t create a new page but create a Template that then you apply to your desired page…

    1. Go to Template
    2. Create new Product Archive or Single Page (customize as needed).
    3. Publish | On the Conditions of this template include “Shop Page” |

    Hope this helps,
    Cheers!

    Hi
I’m very new to this..I know it may sound stupid but Im having the same issue, I’m not able to edit the shop page. Im using the storefront theme. Would really appreciate any advice here. Thanks.

    I made a tutorial here:

    https://www.binarycarpenter.com/guide-customize-woocommerce-shop-page-with-page-builder-elementor-beaver/

Basically, you create a new page and redirect the shop page to that page. You can use pretty much any page builder to build your new shop page.

If you want to keep the default URL, then, this is the tutorial you need:
