    Hi,

I’m editing a page, and I edit the URL, click OK, then click Update, and when the screen reloads, the old URL is still there.

    Help appreciated.

    Regards,
    Steve

  • Are you trying to remove a number, like -2 from the URL, per chance? It could be that you have a page or post in the Trash that is already using the numberless URL/slug. Try emptying your trash and then changing the url.

    Hi Jacob,

No, I was renaming it to a totally different slug.

The problem didn’t occur today – I can now update the slug to the desired string.

    Thanks for your help!

    Steve.

    Hello,
I am having this same issue. There isn’t a page that has the extension I am trying to replace but it still adds -2 at the end. I am trying to create https://www.hopescience.com/5000 and it just adds -2 and won’t allow me to remove it. Is there some issue with having /5000 as an extension?

    Thanks
