• Hello,

I’m working with a site that I didn’t originally design that uses the Lifestyle theme. When I visit he Home page and look for the Edit Page option while logged in, I realize there is no Edit Page option. When I try to find the Home page under Pages, it is not there.

Does this mean the Home page was modified outside of WordPress and I’ll need server access to edit the file?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Check the settings to see what page is being used as the front page – it may be named something other than “Home”.

If your current home page is a list of your recent Posts, it’s not a WordPress static Page but an archive page that is generated on demand. If you want to modify the output, you’ll need to amend the theme’s index.php template file.

If you want to modify the output, you’ll need to amend the theme’s index.php template file.

Actually, I would recommend adding/modifying the home.php template file, for making changes to the Blog Posts Index – unless the modifications are intended to apply to ALL other templates as well (archives, search results, etc.).
