Can’t edit or rescale webp image

  • It’s always something with WordPress. No matter how many years I’ve had it (over 12) or how many blogs or how I think I finally have it working, something else goes wrong.

    The image editor is now not working with webp files. I’ve used them before with no problem. However, now every time I upload one, even if I upload as jpg, I can’t edit the image or resize or crop it.

    Error: Unable to create new image.

    Any ideas?

    What plugin are you using to manage webp images?

    Thanks for responding, Steven.

    No plugin! Just the usual WP media uploader for images. I should have said that.

    Using Chrome, if that matters. Same on all my websites with webp now, so not just this one.
