I’m trying to edit one of the entries in my sidebar. I click on “Presentation”, then “Widgets”, and edit the sidebar entry… After I click the “Save Changes” button I get an “H-Sphere” page that says “Error 404: File Not Found.” What’s up with that? It happens in two separate WordPress blogs I have, and I’ve edited both successfully in the past.

Could this be some kind of MySQL problem? Is it possible that the widgets.php stuff can’t connect to the database where the widget details are stored? (Or do I not really understand how this stuff works?)

I submitted a trouble ticket with directNic (my hoster).

The problem was that “…there was a security block for your I.P. address, and the WordPress admin access, so our Web Server host administrator removed that entry, and opened the domain up for you, so you should be good to go now.”

    That fixed the problem.

Lesson learned: DirectNic will do things to you. If you use them to host your site and things start getting flaky, might want to see what they’ve messed with.

Just today, I can’t edit my widgets in my wp-admin. I switched themes, so it is not a theme issue. I deactivated my plugins and that didn’t change anything. What should I do? Is this a WP issue? I’m using the latest version.
