Can’t edit in WP Backend

All of a sudden I can’t open posts for editing in the WP backend. I deactivated all the plug-ins. This enabled me to get into a post. But now when I preview, the page churns. And when I try to publish I get publish fail.

I’m using 7.1 Gutenberg

I often cut and paste from Word docs or google docs.

This just started. It did not start after an upgrade.

Any ideas about how I could fix this
