When I edit the page and re-publish it, the HTML in the “Upload/Insert” gets wiped out. Completely blanked out. So there is nothing on the page any more. Any idea on what could be causing this?

  • Normal post works fine?
    When did this start?
    URL?

Did you just install WP or upgrade? If so, delete folders wp-admin and wp-includes. Upload fresh copies of all deleted files to the server.

    Normal posts work fine.
I am picking up work on this project and this is the very first page I have tried to edit. So I am not sure what could be changing.
The page I tried to edit which is now blank: https://mainsite.radioboise.org/programming/current/

No I didn’t install anything new.

Is this an image or a file you are trying to upload? Anything from Word?

    What about normal text?

No not a file or image, nor anything from Word.

Normal text works fine. It’s an HTML snippet. I am actually not uploading or inserting anything. I just didn’t know what to call the main input field because the only label is “Upload/Insert” for the buttons to add multimedia.

    <iframe src="https://spinitron.com/public/index.php?station=radioboise&ptype=d&show=schedule&sv=l&css=/wp-content/themes/RBDynamiX1/spinitron.css" width="675" height="1050" frameborder="0"></iframe>

You would paste this into the html view of editor. You do not need to use add multimedia or any buttons.

I am not using those buttons. I am pasting that HTML into the “editor”. Then when I click “Update” the HTML is wiped out and nothing is left in the “HTML” field of the page editor. If, instead of clicking “Update”, one clicks on the “Visual” tab for this page, one can see the page as expected. Unfortunately, clicking “Update” yields the same annihilating result. Nothing is updated. Everything is destroyed. Incomprehensibly and maddening.

Well, I agree. I posted this into a page in two websites with the same results as you. If someone else has an answer great. Otherwise I will be back on the morrow.

6 hours sleep and a cup of coffee – the brain is thinking much more clearly.

The problem (and I have never had it before this) but people have, is switching from the html to visual. In fact so many people have had the problem some have recommended taking the visual button away.

Go to the html view, add code. Go directy to publish or save draft but do not switch back to visual.

Unfortunately the html is wiped out by just clicking “update”. I have no idea where to being. I am suspecting the template.

Update does just that on my site. I have no problem with your code.

Switch to the twentyten theme and try it but don’t switch back and forth beteen visual and html.

I would have suggested that earlier but I thought you had taken over a working theme.

I am not switching back and forth between visual and html. I simply pasting the code into HTML and clicking Update. Something must be corrupt about this page data. I wonder if I have to delete the page and start from scratch.

Switch to twentyten theme to rule out theme problem.

I am able to paste this code in a page in another WP instance with the same theme. I am going to try deleting the page and starting over. Something is corrupt, I suspect.

Nope. Creating another page does nothing to help. No HTML whatsoever is enter-able into these pages. I need to contact the admin of our site and the Theme programmer to see if there is something nefarious going on.
