OK. So I’m developing a client website. WordPress 5.7.1 subdomain multisite on PHP 7.2. The theme is Divi 4.9.4. The only active plugins are Divi Events Calendar (integrates the two, though I’ve tested without that one active, too), iThemes Security, Really Simple SSL, W3 Total Cache, and of course, The Events Calendar.

Scenario 1: If I update and existing Event post type metadata (Any of the metadata in The Events Calendar panel of the post), when I click update, it reports that it was updated, reloads the page, but without any of the changes. HOWEVER, it DOES save/update any OTHER related information on the post, such as categories, excerpt, featured image, and even custom fields. (I have yet to find any non-event data that it doesn’t update.)

Scenario 2: If I create a new Event and then publish, everything EXCEPT the Events Calendar data gets saved and the post is listed in the Events list. However, any attempts to view the event using it’s permalink get a 404 error, and again, none of the event metadata can be updated/saved.

The UI indicates no issues (other than data not saving and 404 error when trying to view the event). I can find no error logs that indicate a problem.

History: A couple of weeks ago, I was working on the site and created some events, so I know at that point it was working. (https://goethe.thinkbydesign.com/event/2021-spring-term/) is one such example – it doesn’t get a 404, but I can’t update any event-related data.

Then, yesterday as I was getting ready to present progress to the client, I discovered the above issue.

Again, the ONLY data that can’t be saved/updated is that specifically related to The Events Calendar.

    Ideas?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

Apologies for the delay on this response, we are currently trying to work through a backlog of these posts, so I wanted to stop and try and help with this.

So one issue that might be affecting this is W3 Total Cache, we currently are having compatibility with a lot of third party Caching plugins, so I might try disabling that and seeing if it makes a difference.

We also have a little extension that may help with some Divi issues: https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/elegant-themes-divi-compatibility/

As for your permalinks, can you make sure those are set to %postname% and try flushing them a few times?

We are also working on a better integration with Divi Events Calendar, because some customers are also having issues with this. Although this is not necessarily going to be a fast fix.

Can you let me know if any of those solutions helped the problems at all?

    Hey there!

This thread has been inactive for a while so we’re going to go ahead and mark it Resolved. Please feel free to open a new thread if any other questions come up and we’d be happy to help.

    Best regards,

    Marho
