• Hey all,
I created a category by copy-pasting the text and it started acting weird. I would like to delete it. However, when I go under Dashboard > Posts > Categories, this one only has the “View” option and nothing else.
I went under Settings > Writing and it’s not the default category.
There are no posts under that category.

    Can anybody help?
    Thanks a bunch,
    P.

    Hello,
yes, I am the administrator of the blog.

Did you update your wordpress or install new plugin?

No, the plugins (I only have Disable Gutenberg and Simple CSS) were already there when I added the categories. I tried to deactivate them but nothing changed.

I should add that I can’t really use the category in a menu. If I do, it says “Invalid URL”. I’m starting to think it has something to do with copy-pasting the name from a Word doc, but it really makes me wonder.

This mean if you add a new category and set the title manually, it’s working?

Yes, I can add new categories and I can edit the existing ones. The blog works fine without me using the broken category. The problem is that it’s called like a functioning one (only difference is an upper/lower case letter).
The reason I’d like to delete it is that I won’t be the one writing the posts, and if people accidentally used the defected category it wouldn’t appear on the blog. It’s a blog for a university class and my professor asked me to find a way of removing the category. If I can’t, it’s not the end of the world.
