Can't edit code in webmatrix

  • Recently I downloaded webmatrix to allow me to create a site without paid hosting until I learn the basics.

    I am using the Twenty Fourteen theme, and have modified things with CSS Manager, TinyMCE, and Twenty Fourteen Extended plugins.

    However, I am trying to refine my design by tweaking the code in webmatrix. However, for some reason, when I manually change codes in webmatrix (like for background colors), nothing happens. I click “run” and nothing. Are the plugins overriding Webmatrix? Or, am I doing something else wrong?

  • You really need to ask the people who developed Webmatrix about this. It’s not something we support here.

    Well, I’ve also tried using the Editor in WordPress to modify the coding, and that hasn’t done anything either. Could it be the plugins that I’m using like Twenty Fourteen Extended that are overriding the coding?

    Modify what coding? Do not edit the theme itself. First create a child theme for your changes.
