Can't edit certain pages; blank in dashboard

  • I am brand new to WordPress and trying to maintain a company website. About 1/3 of the static pages appear blank on the dashboard when I click to edit them (and therefore they cannot be edited). In looking through some of the forums/help sites I gained information to try to following:
    -update newest version of wordpress and re-install
    -de-activate all plug-ins
    -change the theme to twenty eleven
    -clear cookies/cache on my browser and try on another computer
    …to no avail! I have looked at many support threads but often the computer jargon goes over my head; Help!
