Can't Edit Certain Pages and other Quirky Problems

  • I have had my site up an running for a couple of months. I had not been into the Dashboard for about a week, and when I logged in I started having strange, random problems.

    First, all my Categories had disappeared like I had deleted them all. They later came back without me having done anything. Then I had trouble uploading pictures into one of my plug-ins. It kept telling me that I had not designated a picture when I had. It finally let me upload.

    Last, and still ongoing, there are multiple Pages that I cannot access to edit. I can see them on the website, but can in no way access them from the Dashboard. I get the Edit Page title at the top of the screen and then blank after that.

    I contacted my server, and they cannot seem to duplicate the problem. I also tried it on multiple computers and on multiple ISP’s and keep getting the same problem.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    – increasing the memory available to PHP?

    Thank you. I find the plug-in that is the culprit. It is a paid one through my iThemes account, and they are working on it. I so appreciate the help!
