Hello, I tried to modify the existing templates, but the changes are never displayed in the UI. I also tried creating new templates following the file’s name pattern, but the new templates were never present in the plugin’s dashboard select.

Hi @fabettdev Custom templates are copied over to your active themes folder. This is done so that when YARPP updates, your changes are not overwritten. Plus, this also enables Theme authors to include a custom theme for YARPP.

Have you tried to edit the YARPP files in your theme’s folder?

Your YARPP Custom Template file must be in the active theme’s main directory in order to be recognized by YARPP. If your theme did not ship with a YARPP templates, move the files in the yarpp-templates directory which ships with YARPP into your active theme’s main directory. Be sure to move the files (which must be named yarpp-template-.php) to your theme, not the entire directory. There is no limit restriction on custom templates.

Ok, now I can see from YARPP dashboard my custom template. Error was I didn’t update template’s name in my php file.

Now I have another problem: from yesterday I can’t see related posts, with every theme. I didn’t make any changes and this problem started since before i created my custom template.

    1. Have you cleared all caches?
    2. Do all pages have no Related Posts or just some?
    3. Have you tested with the default template? Does the default template appear? (if so, then it may be an issue with the custom template)
