I don’t know if this is a WP or theme issue, but I can no longer drag widgets from the sidebar into the inactive area (for later use) using the Spacious theme. I thought it might be a browser issue w/ Firefox, so I tried moving it using Chrome and Opera. No go. I can drag the widget into the available widgets or another sidebar area, but not to the inactive widgets area. The last time I did it w/out any problems was 1-2 months ago. Drag, drop, done. If I recall correctly, there has been at least one update to the theme during that time. Can someone point me in the right direction?

  • I have discovered exactly the same problem today – so I doubt that it is anything to do with your theme.

Here’s a solution – with thanks to member GR8FL who posted this in an earlier thread:

On the widgets page, hover your mouse over “Available Widgets” and you’ll see a small up arrow appear to the right. It’s not obvious, but this is an accordion menu and works the same as the widgets do – they open and close. Click the up arrow and the menu will contract. The “Inactive Widgets” menu heading will now appear directly below the screen and you should now be able to move your widgets freely into that section.

    Works for me!

Thanks so much, catanga! (And a H/T to GR8FL, too. I must have missed the post in my search through the forum.) Sorry for the repeat question on the same topic. Now it works like a charm. Woo hoo! Thanks again.

No worries! Glad it’s working for you now, as it is for me! ??

Just wanted to share that I’ve experienced the same issue and what catanga suggested worked for me as well. Seems like a new WP bug.

Had the same problem. And catanga’s solution worked for me as well!
