• Hello!

I like many people have been struggling with the itunes “Can’t download episodes from your feed,” error that a lot of people seem to have problems with.

    I have:

    Checked RSS page size
    Checked imagine resolution and size
    Checked tags

Unfortunately I am at a loss and was wondering if anyone could share any solutions they have found to this problem? Cheers!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I have contacted my site host – Bluehost – and they have confirmed that

My site supports HTTP/1.1 protocol. This includes both HEAD and GET requests and multi-byte requests (byte serving).

So I know this is also not an issue :/

I have also confirmed that the feed appears to be ok at CastFeed: https://castfeedvalidator.com/?url=https://www.bayliun.com/feed/podcast

Your media file URL is only showing this: Episode1_LifeJourniesandFallout76.mp3

It must be a complete URL that begins with https:// and ends with .mp3

Thank you so much Shawn! Do I change this on the post page of the podcast on WordPress or at my hosting site Blubrry do you know?

Go to the post editor for this post on your WordPress site. Underneath the main blog post window is the Podcast Episode box. You should see a checkbox that says “Modify Existing Podcast Episode.” Check the box. Copy/paste the full media file URL into the Media URL box and click the Verify URL button. If all goes well, the file URL will be successfully validated. If so, click the Update button next to the main blog post window to update the post and also update your podcast RSS feed.

If you’re using any caching plugins/services on your site, clear them and then try submitting the feed again to Podcasts Connect. If you continue to have trouble, please report back here.

Hello Shawn! I updated as you suggested and did see that you were correct it was not the complete URL of the podcast.

However I am still getting a failure to validate.

I have also tried on another browser just to see if there was any problem with caching.

The enclosure tag within the feed is still showing only the media filename and not the full URL.

This could be due to caching on your site. If you have any caching enabled, clear it, as it may be “holding on” to an older version of your feed with the incomplete file URL.

Ok! I installed the WP Super Cache plugin and used that to clear my cache. Still not validating :/

If there was no caching plugin installed before, then it’s likely your site had no cache to begin with. (Tho, it’s always possible Bluehost is doing something on the backend that’s not viewable from within your WordPress dashboard.) I’d recommend deactivating WP Super Cache for now, as it may cause more problems down the line.

Take a screenshot of the Podcast Episode box for this post on your site and send it to [email protected] so I can take a closer look at what’s going on.
