  • That is a strange link to publish, as you wouldn’t want to grant access to your wp-admin from a Forum!

If you’ve done a vanilla Install then all would work OK. Maybe your host can help identify your problem?

Yes, the same thing happened to me. After updating to the latest version, I have completely blank, non-functioning customization pages. I also have the customizr child theme installed. Please advise.

Additional information… an ftp visit to the customizr/ directory shows that the CSS directory is missing.

Where are you expecting to find css?

    1) wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/admin/css
    2) wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/assets/css

Hi. Filezilla was probably the cause of my missing directories but I am indeed unable to do any customization. So I uninstalled the parent customize theme and installed 3.2.1 from the zip file to see if I could get it back.

However it did not resolve the blank customization screen issue of the op.

When you are using a child theme, is there an activation order you have to follow when updating? I’ve never encountered this before and use child themes with other parent themes.

There is another issue. The menus aren’t dropping down properly on Mac safari and behaving strangely on Chrome/Windows, which I suppose is probably a customizer setting.

Sorry to keep posting but I had to roll back to 3.1.24 to get my customization screen back. I did try deactivating the few plugins that I have installed but there was no change.

Additionally, the drop down menus in 3.2.3, which I had set to expand on click before update, did not appear and did not function at all on iPad.

Strange though, when you left the browser tab and returned to it later, they were there and somewhat functional but they had a delay. So I am chalking that up to a setting in the missing Customize admin panel. There was also a redraw issue with the slider.

I will keep watching the forum for updates.

Hi Dave, if it done something with the server, I tried to use the twenty fourteen theme and it works just fine.

The previewing of twenty fourteen works. But not with customizr. It’s blank. And the accordion menu on the left won’t dropdown.

Tomorrow, I can give you access to admin menu (so is nick) if needed. I’ll contact you to your email.

Hi, lazyskins, my issue is not front end, but the admin menu of customization page.

Yes afjsystem. I have the same issue as you. The admin panel for “Customize” is blank. The top level of the accordion menu is there but nothing on sub levels. I think there are ALSO front end glitches that are almost certainly related to the options that can be set in admin “Customize.” For example, the “expand on click” setting for navigation menus is not working on Safari. Since I cannot get to the “Customize” screen, I can’t change this setting.

So I installed older version and will wait.

Hi @afjsystem and @lazykins, this is most probably a plugin issue.
    Can you please :
    1) desactivate all your plugins,
    2) refresh your browser cache,
    3) check if the customizer works again
    4) activate your plugins one by one and identify which one is in conflict.

Thanks for your feedback as soon as possible on this since I am about to release a new version.

Hi nikeo, thanks for droping in..
actually, this resolved after i updating to WP verion 4.0.

FYI, my site is freshly installation and only have Akismet plugin (deactive).
Already clean the cache and cookies in browser. Still not working.

I have no idea what is the problem. You might want to try fresh instal of 3.9.2 and use customizr 3.2.3.
Some people maybe dont want to update to WP 4.0 in rush.

To keep up with Czr 3.2.*, I’d recommend you take the plunge and go to WP4.0.

Better in a test environment first, but the risks are so low compared to benefits.

Just imagine a world where the WP Developers keep adding lots of new improvements (4.2 is now in progress and fairly close to release) but nobody upgrades and stays on 3.9. They’d down tools pretty quickly. Like this Forum, the WP4 Forum is just as responsive and if you did suffer a problem, there’d be someone to help you out. As it is, you have a problem unless you backtrack to Czr 3.1.*

Here is the entry message from the error log associated with the missing 3.2.* Customizr screen in admin, WP 3.9.2

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method TC_controls::input_attrs() in /wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/admin/class-controls.php on line 156

    I meant 4.1 in #12 of course!

@lazykins that helps : I just realized that this function has been introduced in 4.0 and I use it in the theme since v3.2+
I just added a version check for that in the next release
    Thanks for your contribution !

I upgraded to Customizr 3.2.3 because I want to have the “sticky menu option”. I have been using a child theme.
I have not yet upgraded to WordPress 4.0.
When I activataed the new Customizr, and then the child theme, the “Customize” screen is no longer providing any options in the dropdowns.
I deleted the child theme (saving the files), and tried to use the main theme to customize, but same problem.
So I would say that the problem is not WordPress 4.0, but something else. What do I have to go back to to fix this, and where do I get it?
    Thanks in advance!
