can’t dismiss admin notice

    I’m seeing a “Security auto-update of WooCommerce” notice at the top of my website admin panel when looking at a woocommerce produce or the woocommerce admin area

    it then says “Your store has been updated to the latest secure version of WooCommerce. We worked with WordPress to deploy security updates related to PayPal Standard payment gateway for stores running WooCommerce (version 3.5 to 6.3).”

    but there isn’t a ‘dismiss’ button under it

    how can i get rid of this?

    I understand there is not a dismiss button on the notification.

    Is possible there is another button (usually they have a blue color) around it? If so, can you click it, then go back to the home page to check if the notification is gone?

    I’ve also tried loading the page in incognito mode (thinking a plugin/extension could have been blocking it), but it still isn’t there (using chrome)

    I then tested using edge (both on windows) and there just isn’t a button to dismiss

    Thank you for sending the screenshot.

    Weirdly, the dismiss button does not show in that message. I think there might be some conflict preventing it from appearing.

    To be sure it is the case, please perform a conflict test by temporarily switching your theme back to Storefront, disabling all plugins except WooCommerce, and check again if the dismiss button now appears. If that solves it, then re-enable all plugins one-by-one, until you find the one creating the conflict.

    I just tested the storefront theme and reloaded the products page (where I also see that notice box) and the dismiss button is still not there

    I had already troubleshooted the plugins by disabling all of them except for woocommerce. still the same results

    System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Can you try:

    1. Clearing any cache on the site even server cache
    2. Checking any CSS that might be hiding the “Dismiss” button. Then re-store the button modifying the CSS to use it.
    3. Switching to PayPal Payments as explained in the image above.

    I cleared cache on the server before, and even just did it for my browser just in case.
    no changes

    not sure how to check for modifying CSS for the wp-admin panel? either way, changing the theme to the storefront (as you suggested) should have nullified that possibility, right?

    I installed that paypal payments plugin to test, but no change. I don’t even accept payments on the website. it’s essentially just an external linking woocommerce website

    Thanks for performing the steps and yes, the storefront theme should have addressed the CSS issue if it was existent.

    From the screenshot you shared, I didn’t see the ending border for the notification. Do you have a large screen size? You could run an inspection and mark the page for responsiveness so the viewport can be limited. See https://developer.chrome.com/docs/devtools/device-mode/

    it’s just a normal screen 30 something inches at 1440p
    I loaded the website/admin panel up on my smartphone too, and the button wasn’t displayed in mobile view (if that helps)

    Thanks for the screenshot. Do you have any active add-on, plugin or extension in your browser?

    Some extensions like AdBlock may, sometimes, block elements like this. If you have any extension, please try to disable it and check if the “Dismiss” button appears.

    as mentioned, I used incognito mode to rule out plugins/extensions. but also used 2 other browser on three different devices. the button isn’t there in any device/browser combo for this website

    i saw the button on another website I manage (after doing the site migrations). but it has yet to appear on this site
