• Hi All,

I have recently installed WordPress with the Atahualpa 3.4.3 theme. I have done some googling on this topic and tried some suggestions (including from these forums) on this but no luck.

Even if I add another widget to the Right Sidebar the Blogroll does not deactivate. Furthermore, the Blogroll is not listed/does not appear under the Right Sidebar so I can’t turn it off specifically. I have also tried dragging both Active and Inactive widgets to the Right sidebar (this was a solution suggested by a poster here I believe). Also, I have no sidebar.php file (some other posts have suggested editing this file).

How can I remove the Blogroll? Much appreciated…

    Thanks

  • You’ll find the aforementioned code in the footer.php ??

Lines 66-78 in my case. Gee – how obvious a location.

Commented out and problem solved – thanks a lot for the prompt response t31os_ !

    No problem, you’re welcome.. ??

I have the same problem ?? I checked footer.php but nothing like that isn’t there. I replaced original theme footer with WP footer but I don’t see anything that would put that Blogroll on side bar. In sidebar.php I only have archives and meta there.

    Thanks for help

do you have the blogroll widget activated?
    admin – appearance – widgets

it isn’t even there! I may be on to something at the moment though – tried to drag everything to a different place and sidebar is changing.
But I seem to have 2 meta widgets atm…

Edit: Done ?? Lets just hope it srays that way.

    Hi all..

I ve tried everything.. I looked at footer, tried to drag widgets to right side bar but categories and blogroll is still there.. And also except text widget i cannot see anything else.. My theme name is elegant jewel.. Maybe there is sth wrong with the theme?

    Thanks in advance.

Try another theme, should only take a few minutes to switch, plonk in a few widgets, check the page, then change it back…

Thanks for the answer.. but no way:(

I ve changed the theme, added 3 other widgets to right sidebar and then changed the theme to elegant jewel. Now i can see categories, blogroll (cannot get rid of them) and the other widgets i ve added. And the weird thing is that, I cannot remove the widgets I ve added.

What is the problem of this theme?:(

    Thanks.

    Perhaps it’s not widgetized..

I had the same problem and removed the code from:

    <div id=”linkcat-12″ class=”widget widget_links”><div class=”widget-title”><h3>Blogroll</h3></div>

    to the

    </div>

after the Blogroll components in the footer.php file. Problem solved.

Copy and save the original footer.php file in case you mess up.
