    Hi guys,
I would like to limit ALL the sidebar widgets to only show up on the front page (but I don’t want to remove the call to get_sidebar() from the template since I plan to programmatically inject stuff intpo the sidebar area from a plugin I develop). Problem is that on the pages where ALL widgets are supposed to be invisible 3 widgets come up: search, archive and meta. But I haven’t even put these in the sidebar! As soon as I allow one of the widgets to show up using your settings the problem goes away and only that widget shows up.

This sounds like the default behaviour of the theme which tries to fill out the sidebar if no custom widgets are present or available for display in that sidebar area. Could you please confirm this in the theme code?
