There is no longer an “arrow on the right of the item to reveal additional configuration options.”

In order to edit menus, I have had to delete the whole menu and start from scratch.

I’m using the OptimizePress 2.0 Theme … but I have already tried changing themes to see if it was the theme causing the issue, but I get the same result with other themes.

I contacted OptimizePress for support … they told me it sounds like my WP is corrupt and to contact my webhost. I contacted them and they told me to contact a developer.

Just seeing if there is a quick fix for a non-techie person.

    Thanks,

    Victoria

  • Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

Hi esmi … thanks for responding …

Yes, I just now switched to the 2014 theme and deactivated ALL plugins … I checked the menu and I still get the same issue.

    Thanks,

This issue seems to pertain to the 3.9.1 update from my experience.

I just looked at two other sites I run.

Looked at the menus, they looked just fine … then I did the update … and just after the update .. the menus now have the same issue.

I am getting the same problem, I am working on a new site and it has to be done by thursday morning for a bonus, this isn’t good at all

I haven’t installed any plugins yet, I tried activating different themes and the problem persists

Tried 2 different browser IE and Chrome, same problem

I restored an auto backup that was created last night an dit set it back, but i wonder when the problem is going to be an issue again

I cannot remove menu items that show up on my website; the same menu items do not show up in nav-menus.php in the dashboard, so no option to remove them. Can anyone help? Thank you. I am running WP 3.9.1.

It turned out that my account was compromised (hacked) … after hiring a malware removal specialist to clean up all my domains, the menus and login screen all returned to normal.

It did come back, but that was because my guy did not do a thorough cleanup the first time and one of the bad files reappeared and caused the issue again … but he’s fixing it again …

I would highly recommend having your webhost scan for malware and quarantine any bad files. This will not fix the issue, but it will help it from getting worse.

Then, hire someone on odesk or elance a malware specialist to clean up your site(s).

I was also told by my host to always be current on all updates for wp, plugins, and themes …

Beyond that I hope you get your sites working correctly.

    Good luck!

Thanks. I did update all the plugins. Perhaps removing the entire menu putting it back again might help?
