Can’t delete or change section background images

I had updated to V2.4.1 but there were plugin issues and Elementor wouldnt load for me. Since I’ve reverted back to 2.3.8, I’m now no longer able to delete or chnage section background images. The image area under section>style>background doesnt show the current image or it doesn’t let me delete the image. What is casusing this?

I can see the elementor-control-input-wrapper div but it’s like the: elementor-control-media elementor-control-tag-area elementor-control-preview-area elementor-aspect-ratio-169 div is hidden.
