Can’t deactivate or delete

May I ask why you would like to remove the plugin?

In regard to your error – the user issues you are mentioning should not interfere with such process. What happens when you try to deactivate the plugin? Are you getting any error? If yes, what is it please?

A plugin I’m using to migrate between a localhost dev site and a live site has a size limit on imports and I need to delete whatever is unnecessary. I may reinstall this plugin later, but for now it is unnecessary.

When I click Deactivate, I get a set of options asking why I’m deleting the plugin. I select one, then click Deactivate (or whatever the button is labled). The dialogue box is dismissed and nothing happens. No error message, unless it’s getting logged somewhere.

In such case I guess the best option is to manually remove the plugin by following the below procedure:

1) Delete the plugin directory (\wp-content\plugins\wp-security-audit-log\
2) Delete the following tables from the WordPress database:
– wp_wsal_metadata
– wp_wsal_occurences
– wp_wsal_options

This should help you solve your issue. If there is anything else we can help you with, please do not hesitate to ask.

I’m not comfortable deleting tables from the database.
Can you point me towards a tutorial on how to do this safely? (I suspect I can do it within MyPHP? The localhost is using Wamp.)

FYI I tried one more time and the Deactivate function still didn’t work. I tried going to the plugin settings and got “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

The manual method above worked fine.
