I’ve tried everything I can think of – uninstalling and reinstalling, deactivating and reactivating – but nothing works. No matter what I try or how many times I try it, I still get “Forbidden – you don’t have permission to access /wp/wp-admin/media-upload.php on this server.” It also tells me that a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I don’t know what this means and I can’t seem to finagle it into working. How can I get this to work? I tried other recipe plugins but none of them looked as nice as this one.

  • I have a similar problem. I don’t get all the error messages like above, but the plugin doesn’t save my edits anymore.
After clicking “Update Recipe”, the edit window closes without any fuss, but any changes are discarded

lehillx, sorry to hear that. I emailed you back, I believe. I’d say there is a problem with your WP installation. Can you add images? Please reply to my email if you still have this problem.

Bigmek, your issue should be fixed by Deactivating and Reactivating Zip Recipes from your Plugins page.

    Hello,
I have a similar problem. When I click the update recipe button, i sometimes end up on an empty add a recipe window. It has lost my text (title, ingredients and instructions). The worst is that it happens only for some recipes as most others work. So I havent worked out and rational reason. Is it failing to save because my text is too long? because I have too many links? or is there a maximum number of recipes one can add? or my WP version is an issue?
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi Danslalune,

It’s probably because your text is too long. The following fields can accept maximum 50 characters:

Serving size, calories, fat, carbs, protein, fiber, sugar, saturated fat, sodium.

    Thanks for your quick reply!

Actually I don’t use the additional fields you mention. And I had put recipes using longer ingredients and instructions in the past.

Today I had to do many iterations of adding/removing lines and words to be able to add recipes. Obviously it makes the work very tedious…
The only recent changes I can think of is upgrading of WP version and maybe the fact I have reached my 96th+ recipe.
Any idea/suggestion welcome to help my website !

    Hi danslalune,

Sorry for the delay in replying (I kind of lost track of this). I just sent you an email to get more info.

I am having trouble adding new recipes to my website. After I add the new post, I go to preview and the only thing there is the original title that I typed in at the top of the “add new posts” page. When I go to edit the recipe, I receive the message below. I deactivated and reactivated the plug-in. I have no idea what to do from here. Unfortunately, I am not super tech savvy.

The website cannot display the page
    HTTP 500
    Most likely causes:
    ?The website is under maintenance.
?The website has a programming error.

Thanks for any help that you can give me, I deeply appreciate it!

    Hi klarkins.

What version of php and WordPress are you on?

Can you email me at hello at zip recipes dot net?
