Can’t create static homepage

    I am trying to create a static homepage, but whatever page I create or choose fills with latest blog posts. I have changed front page to static & selected the page. Also unticked and ticked ‘Check to hide blog posts/static page on front page’. Have tried resaving permalinks and clearing cache and disabling plugins.
