Can't Create New User Due To WP Security

    I’m trying to create a new author user for my site but it wont let me login. I get “error : incorrect username or password”

    I have tried re-creating new users to ensure proper login details but to no avail.

    I then deactivated all the plugins until I relized it was WP security causing this..

    I contact hosting support and they tried creating a new user in PHP my admin (i think php my admin anyway, cpanel) but they couldn’t login still.

    How can I keep WP security active, add a new author user, and actually be able to login with the new details??

    Hi, can you confirm that you are entering the correct username and password when login in? Can you check the log file, see if that reveals any information?

    Do you have the “Enable manual approval of new registrations” checked?

    I created multiple accounts to verify correct pass and username. yes..

    I DO have that option check “Enable manual approval of new registrations”

    Do I need to change this or what?

    Cool.. I didn’t know I had to activate the user in the WP security section!
