    Hey!

I just installed the plugin, and as suggested in the Settings, I manually backed up my database and .htaccess just fine. But when I tried to back my wp-config.php file, it sends me to a “Page Not Found” page.

My WordPress is a multisite installation, if that helps.

    Can I fix this?

    Thanks!

Hi, are you carrying out a backup from the Network Admin site or from a sub site?

How did you try to back up that file? Which menu item or feature did you use?

    Hey guys!

@mbrsolution – I performed the backups from the network admin site – the first two ran absolutlely fine, and I checked the backup files created on the server as well – a .zip for the db, and a .txt for htaccess.

@wpsolutions – I clicked on ‘Settings’, where it prompts me to backup these 3 things before making changes (“Backup wp-config.php file”). I clicked on the links for each, and the links take me to the relevant menu item/tabs – Settings > wp-config.php tab in this case. And then I clicked on the blue “Backup wp-config.php File” button.

If you don’t mind, I have another question – enabling the “Prevent Hotlinking” option cause 404 errors for images in the subsites – is this intended, or did I mess up?

    Hi,

And then I clicked on the blue “Backup wp-config.php File” button

This plugin will look for the wp-config.php file in your ABSPATH directory.
Do you have the wp-config.php saved in a non-standard dir?

Anyway, I will make that function a bit more robust so it can handle such cases.
For now simply make a copy of that file manually via FTP or cpanel.

enabling the “Prevent Hotlinking” option cause 404 errors for images in the subsites – is this intended, or did I mess up?

Well it’s not intended but each site setup is different and has unique quirks and not EVERY feature will work as expected. I would leave that feature disabled for now.
I will try a few tests using that feature on a multi-site when I get time to see if anything is broken.

The wp-config is in whichever directory it defaults to. But yes, I have manually created a backup in cPanel.

As for hotlinking, yes, I guessed mine might be a somewhat unique case!

    Thanks for helping!
