• After I create a “Page” for a separate blog page for my site https://www.maraurealestate.com, I see that the next step is to go to settings, reading settings, and set the “posts page” to the new blog page I created, so the blog posts know where to appear. But, after I do that, and try to view or edit, it’s as though the page doesn’t exist any more. When I go back to edit page for this new blog page, then click preview changes, it redirects back to my home page. Unselecting this blog page in “posts page”, I can go back to seeing and editing the page, but without seeing any posts, obviously.

Notes: Everything started messing up when I tried to change permalink settings, since I want my permalinks to read mysite/blogpage/postname. Now I can’t even change to custom structure… it just reverts back to the postname structure. It’s frustrating that I can’t seem to a basic blog page that shows my posts when it’s supposed to be so easy!

I’m able to see my post with url https://www.maraurealestate.com/postname, but that defeats the purpose of having a separate blog page, right?

I hope this makes some sense… I’m obviously a noob. Thanks.

  • When you look at your blog page in the admin area, you won’t see anything in the text box. All the posts are pulled into the page and nothing will show up on the page. You’ll be able to edit each post on its own page.

If I’ve misunderstood your question, please ask again. It looks as though you don’t currently have a blog page, though I found this post: https://www.maraurealestate.com/the-real-bahia/

I am having the same problem! I created a site using the twenty fourteen template and I have set my front page to static. When I try to set my posts page to the page I created called “blog” nothing shows up. I tried setting my front page to show recent posts to see if that worked and it is blank as well. I uninstalled all my plug ins to make sure that wasn’t messing it up but it did not change anything.

So frustrating! I have been playing with it for about 2 weeks and posted for help before but no responses. Please help!

    Thanks
