Can't connect WordPress user to Facebook

  • Links on profile page to connect to facebook do not work. The first time you click one on a new app a login box appears with permission requests (stating that publish is not possible) that ‘seems’ to work but then the links remain and nothing changes on the profile page. If you click them again a pop-up window appears briefly but disappears very quickly. The links appear remain at the bottom of the profile page. Also, on the FB plugin “social publisher” page, I have a red cross/x after point 3. (“Authenticate with Facebook to allow your Facebook application to post to your Timeline or Page on your behalf when a post is published”). I don’t seem to be able to establish an association between my WP site and FB.

    I’m having the same problem too. The plugin seems to link okay with the app created within Facebook, but I can’t link the WordPress profile to Facebook profile. Just like the OP it confirmed credentials and permissions on the first attempt but nothing seemed to happen within the plugin afterwards.
    Have tried removing and reinstalling the plugin, and tried a fresh installation of WordPress.

    Any ideas?

    Yes, same here … this is really annoying. I’ll expect better quality if it says it’s an official plugin!
