Can’t connect to FTP

  • Hello,

    Can someone please tell me how to find my hostname. My server looks similar to this [email protected] and when I enter this in with the password that usually gets me in through winscp or filezilla it doesnt work it says error connecting. Am i uing the wrong username? Do i need to change a files permission? Thank for the advice.

    Wow, that helps a lot. Its a good thing your a moderator or else i would be disappointed in the amount of advice you’ve given me. You’re a moderator for a reason, i suggest you live up to it. If you want to be lazy and not help anyone then stay off the boards.

    You do know typically moderators on forums are here to clean up crap right? It’s nice that @esmi and other mods happen to know what they are talking about….but normally mods are on forums to get rid of inappropriate content, spam, useless junk, etc.

    As for your problem…seriously what do you want? We can’t help you find you host name at all…..

    the advice your were given is all we can give….. ask your hosts. Every host is different. My hostname on godaddy is just my website

    ie. ftp:// www . rvoodoo . com
    (no spaces obviously)

    you registered on here to ask one question, you got the only answer we can possibly give, and then you complain about the level of service given? @esmi is extremely active, and helps many people, frequently.
