• My site is stuck on the 4th step: “Testing that Wordfence Central is able to communicate with this site.” It did come up with a “domain redirect” error but that seems to have gone now.

    I have tried reinstalling the plugin but it seems stuck. Can you assist?

    Hi @pmycroft, thanks for getting in touch.

    I believe the redirect message may originally be down to the cpguard check that takes place when /wp-admin is visited as Wordfence Central will try this URL to check connectivity. However, I’ve checked your REST API path and that seems to be reachable without issue.

    I think the fact it’s now stuck might be down to needing to clear the previous connection attempt’s data. Head over to Wordfence Central, go to the Connection Issues tab. Clear out any sites that might be hanging around in there.

    Now go back to your site and log in as an admin. Navigate to Tools > Diagnostics > Other Tests > Clear all Wordfence Central connection data. Clear the connection data and then from the Wordfence Dashboard, click on “Connect this site” in the Wordfence Central widget.

    Hi Peter,

    I tried these steps but see this red error in Tools > Diagnostics:

    “Connecting back to this site via IPv6 (not required; failure to connect may not be an issue on some sites)

    wp_remote_post() test back to this server failed! Response was: cURL error 7:”

    When trying to reconnect site from dashboard, I see “Unable to resolve domain redirects”.

    Should I start from scratch and delete the plugin and all tables then add it again? Could it be a hosting issue?
