I’ve installed Jetpack and when I activate it, I get the screen to connect it to my WordPress account. I put in my WP username and password and Jetpack tells me it’s an invalid username or email. I try again with my email address, and same result. I reset my WP password and try again, same problem. I reset it again, same problem.

I’m not using my site username/password, it is definitely my WP credentials.
I’m not mistyping any of my details, I’ve done this about a dozen times now!

    Any advice please?

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

The Jetpack plugin requires you to connect to a WordPress.com account to be fully activated.

If you forgot your WordPress.com password, you can request a new password by entering your email address here:
    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Please follow the instructions carefully. You’ll receive an email during the reset process, so make sure you read it for important instructions. If you don’t receive the email right away, check your spam folders as well. The confirmation email can get caught in them sometimes.

Please note that WordPress.com accounts are different from the account you use to administrate your blog. WordPress.com and self-hosted blogs available through www.remarpro.com are two different entities.
Please check out the following links to learn the differences.

I hope this helps. Please get in touch again if you have any more questions.

Thank you Jeremy. Sadly it doesn’t help as I already said in my original query that I reset my WP password to be absolutely certain I knew what it was. I’ve had to log into WP to reply to this so I’m pretty certain I’ve got the right WP username and password.

Second, I also acknowledged in my original query that I know that I have to log in with my WP password, not my site admin password.

    Any other suggestions?

Note that the credentials you used to log in here to reply are www.remarpro.com credentials. This account is different from the WordPress.com service I mentioned earlier.

To use Jetpack, you’ll need to create an account there as well:

    GoingMad,

Were you ever able to resolve the issue? I am having the same issue – I also reset my password – in WordPress.com not .org – just to make sure.

    Thank you!
