    Hello,

i have no solution for: MailPoet Error: Unable to connect to the database (the database is unable to open a file or folder), the connection is likely not configured correctly. Please read our Knowledge Base article for steps how to resolve it.

    the help on:
    https://beta.docs.mailpoet.com/article/200-solving-database-connection-issues

    brings not the solution.

In my wp-config.php ist /** MySQL hostname */
    define(‘DB_HOST’, ‘rdbms.strato.de:’);

that ist impossible to change to 127.0.0.1, otherwise nothing is work.

Your solution 2 help also not. There is no mysql.sock and no php.ini

    any help please?

    Sincerly
    Thomas

Why would you communicate in private instead of allowing the rest of the community see if you have a solution and what that solution might be? I have exactly the same issue. I have used MailChimp in the past and had no issues. I was exploring MailPoet at the request of a colleague. This does not bode well.

Hello, I have this same exact error when trying to use MailPoet3. Would you be so kind as to share your solution publicly?

Exact same problem. apparently, this is a fairly common issue and should be open resolved.

Hello, I fourth that. I’m having the same issue. MailPoet’s help files are useless. I’ve banged my head on this for too long now and am moving to another mail program. What a shame, I liked MP.

Even worse? MP staff doen’t publish the solution or even correspondence for this issue publicly.

    Same issue:
“MailPoet Error: Unable to connect to the database (the database is unable to open a file or folder), the connection is likely not configured correctly”… would be beneficial or plugin author to add link to this thread to solution or join thread/re-open.

Same problem here, also with STRATO. Hello @mailpoet, this is NOT solved until you publish the solution here!

I have the same issue. I was hopeful when I saw this topic. Same frustration that the answer isn’t published for the general public.

    my solution:

Your DB_HOST was set to “rdbms.strato.de:” (see the colon after .de?) I removed the extra colon and things work fine now.
